Recent development work has focused on improving junction creation, map loading reliability, and refresh performance inside Road Constructor, helping provide a faster and smoother workflow when building complex road networks.

Junction Creation, Map Loading, and Refresh Optimisation Improvements

Development work continues on Road Constructor, with recent improvements focused on junction creation, map loading, and refresh optimisation.

Junctions are one of the most important parts of any road network, and they need to remain accurate, stable, and responsive throughout the full editing workflow. Recent work has focused on improving how junctions are created, connected, refreshed, and restored, helping ensure that road layouts remain consistent as users build and edit their networks.

A major part of this work has also been focused on map loading reliability. When opening a project or reloading a saved map, Road Constructor needs to correctly restore road connections, junction links, generated systems, and editable road data without requiring unnecessary manual fixes. Improvements in this area help make larger road networks more dependable when saved, reopened, and continued later.

Refresh performance has also been reviewed and improved. As road networks become more complex, unnecessary full-scene refreshes can slow down the editing experience. Optimisation work has focused on reducing avoidable delays, improving refresh behaviour, and keeping road and junction updates more targeted where possible.

These changes are designed to make Road Constructor feel faster, more reliable, and more comfortable to use during real production workflows. Whether users are creating a small road layout or a much larger connected network, the aim is to keep editing responsive while preserving accuracy across roads, junctions, and related systems.

This work forms part of the ongoing preparation for the official Fab launch release. Road Constructor will continue to receive optimisation, stability testing, and workflow improvements to help ensure users have a smooth and dependable experience when creating road networks inside Unreal Engine.
