Optimisation Work Continues to Improve the Road Constructor User Experience
Ongoing optimisation work is being carried out across Road Constructor to help ensure a smoother, more responsive experience when creating, editing, and managing road networks inside Unreal Engine.
Development work continues on Road Constructor, with a strong focus on optimisation and overall user experience when creating road networks inside Unreal Engine.
As road networks grow in size and complexity, editor performance becomes an important part of the workflow. Recent optimisation work has focused on improving responsiveness during road creation, editing, selection, connection handling, and general viewport interaction, helping users work more comfortably when building larger or more detailed road layouts.
This work is especially important for workflows involving connected roads, junctions, road points, generated systems, and larger authored networks. The goal is to ensure that Road Constructor remains practical and enjoyable to use, whether users are building a small road section, a detailed environment, or a much larger road network.
Optimisation is not only about performance numbers. It is also about making the tool feel better during day-to-day use. Improvements are being reviewed carefully to reduce unnecessary delays, avoid disruptive editor behaviour, and keep road editing accurate, predictable, and responsive.
These optimisation passes are part of the wider preparation work leading toward the official Fab launch release. Road Constructor will continue to receive testing, refinement, and improvement across its core systems to help provide a stable and efficient workflow for users.
The aim is to make Road Constructor a powerful but accessible road creation tool, allowing Unreal Engine users to focus more on building their worlds and less on fighting slow or difficult editing workflows.
