Development work is continuing on Road Constructor’s road markings functionality, with a strong focus on ensuring the system is accurate, reliable, and ready for production use.
Road markings are an important part of creating believable and usable road networks. They help define lane direction, road layout, junction behaviour, driving lanes, edge lines, centre lines, and other key visual information that makes a road network easier to understand and more realistic inside Unreal Engine.
Recent work has focused on reviewing how road markings behave across different workflows, including standard roads, junctions, lane lines, manual edits, generated markings, save and reload behaviour, and Play In Editor testing. The aim is to make sure that when users edit or customise their markings, those changes remain stable and predictable throughout the full authoring process.
Particular attention is being given to persistence and production reliability. This means ensuring that marking changes are preserved correctly, that junction markings behave as expected, and that road and junction systems continue to work together without unwanted resets or visual inconsistencies.
This work is part of the wider preparation for the official Road Constructor Fab launch release. As development continues, each core system is being tested, refined, and improved to ensure the plugin provides a dependable workflow for users creating detailed road networks.
The goal is to make Road Constructor’s road markings system both flexible and production-ready, giving users the confidence to build, edit, save, reload, and package their road networks with consistent results.
